Have you ever walked out of a bakery or restaurant because you were concerned about safe options for you or your child?  If you’re a restaurant owner or retailer, have you ever been frustrated by a customer who asks a lot of questions or rejects products because you use nuts or another allergen? Having safe food options can make a world of difference for customers, and it doesn’t have to be a burden for retailers. If customers and businesses understand each other’s needs, allergy-friendly options and establishments can be win-win.

As the owner of a nut-free bakery with gluten-free and vegan options, Yael Krigman will discuss best practices and lessons learned for businesses and customers alike. Baked by Yael’s transition to being completely nut-free and accommodating other dietary needs was eye-opening and far easier than you might expect. In this session, we will explore some of the ways customers and food establishments can work together to create a safe dining experience for everyone.
